The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet convertible is certainly fast; it has a top track speed of 187 mph (a ten mph increase over the base version) and a zero-to-sixty time of only 4.4 seconds (a .4 second improvement over the base. Standard features are plentiful and include a new roof that opens and closes in only eleven seconds, Exhaust emission control, Porsche Stability Management, several airbags, an Anti-Theft protection system, sporty all-leather seating, several interior color choices, a Porsche Communication Management system (which includes iPod and MP3 connectivity), a Burmester or Bose High-End Surround Sound System, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, a sport steering wheel (as well as sports seats), Porsche Entry & Drive, climate control, and a universal audio interface with USB port. Special convertible features include the electrically-powered wind deflector and the amazing roof, as already mentioned. A special rear window is made from glass and is built directly into the folding roof. This window is electrically-heated and scratch resistant.

The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet convertible has a reasonable starting price for a luxury convertible at $108,000. There is also a second Cabriolet model- the base 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet- which is a less sporty variant of the base Cabriolet convertible. After review, we can say that both of these vehicles are quite impressive, with the S variant coming in about $10k higher than the base model. The base model Cabriolet features a 3.4-liter flat six engine that produces 350 horsepower, while the S variant creates 400 horsepower with its 3.8-liter flat six engine. Both of these models come with a choice of a Porsche 7-speed PDK transmission or the 7-speed manual transmission. So, there isn't that large of a difference in power-though drivers will certainly be able to see a difference between the two. There are also several other (and by that we mean over a dozen!) new 911 models this year- several of which are 911 Carrera models. The 911 Carrera coupe is the most basic of these models- but it's sure to amaze any drivers interested.
