Part 1: Introduction

2011 has been a tipsy turvy year for the Land Rover Company. They have produced some truly stylish cars with the Range Rover Evoque SUV, while there have been flops in the form of the Land Rover LR2 SUV. For people who are looking for a consistent, powerful SUV that provides a combination of both off road and on road amenities, the 2011 Range Rover Sport SUV is the perfect choice. Usually, the Range Rover is known to provide a sturdy off road driving performance while including all of the interior amenities of a Sedan. However, the Range Rover Sport SUV features the initial step taken by Land Rover in to the high performance SUV battlefield. The car has been structured to provide looks, style and handsome driving performance.

The SUV is available in a couple of different trim packages, both of which are powered by 5.0 liter V8 engines. If you buy the HSE model, you get 375 horsepower as well as 375 pound feet of torque. On the other hand, if you buy the Supercharged Range Rover Sport SUV, the V8 engine can deliver a highly impressive 501 HP as well as 461 pound feet of torque. For a SUV, these figures are downright impressive. Both of these models come with a six speed automatic transmission with manual shift control to provide maximum feasibility.

Compared to other Land Rover models, the handling of the Range Rover Sport SUV has also been significantly improved. You will find that the car turns easily on tight corners, and is able to handle swift turning quite easily. The Range Rover Sport SUV is going to be the first Land Rover to include the Dynamic Response suspension, which is supposed to automatically detect cornering forces and hence adjust the antiroll bars in order to optimize handling and body control. Upon testing, we found that the Dynamic Response does work as the company said it would, and it really makes cornering and turning an extremely easy task. The car is also able to provide off road performance as well. Let us discuss the features of the Range Rover Sport SUV now.

Landrover Range Rover Sport SUV Pros and Cons

Pros For people who are looking for a powerful on road vehicle from the SUV series, the Range Rover Sport SUV is a great option.

Pros It has a strong body capable of resisting powerful damage, and also includes airbags and other safety features.

Pros It has a luxurious interior, which bodes well with the exterior of the car.

Pros It includes a lot of features that you would not find in standard SUVs, making it a viable purchase for many people.

Pros The Dynamic Response system does wonders when used while driving, as it lets you turn the car easily and effectively without any exertion of force at all.

Pros Handling on the Range Rover Sport SUV has been heavily improved, and can be regarded as a definite step in the right direction for Land Rover.

Pros The powerful engine is capable of providing strong speeds.

Pros There are two packages available, so for people who are looking for performance, they can easily opt for the super charged model, while others can go with the HSE model.

Pros The Range Rover Sport SUV runs on a permanent four wheel drive and has a two speed transfer case.

Pros It has an automatically controlled locking center differential, which automatically distributes the torque on both the axles when required while driving.

Cons Off road performance leaves a lot to be desired, and it can be safely said that the car was designed primarily for use on the road.

Cons The inclusion of the V8 engine means that fuel consumption has risen steeply, so expect to pay a lot more if you want to drive the Range Rover Sport SUV.

Cons Secondly, the price of the Range Rover Sport SUV is also quite high, and that can be attributed to the engine as well.

Cons Performance and steering could be improved within the car.
