Jeep has finally brought more power and better options to the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler is now fitted with a V6 engine producing 285 horsepower and all models now come in five-speed automatic with four-wheel drive. Jeep didn't update everything however on the new Wrangler, so it has a lot of negative and positive attributes. Underneath everything, Jeep constructed the Wrangler with "old-school" solid axles. They also brought back the old hand cranking windows. The new 2012 Jeep Wrangler is even said to be incredibly noisy on a very rough ride. Jeep also didn't think clearly when designing the soft top for the Wrangler as it is a major puzzle and pain to operate. The soft top also is like a huge advertisement for potential thieves that might come across this SUV. Other negatives of the Wrangler include very limited secured storage and very long braking distances.

Underneath the hood of the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler, you will find the new Chrysler "Pentastar" 285-hp V6 engine. This engine is very efficient and provides smooth and vigorous power. The engine provides this SUV with a fuel economy averaging around 17 miles per gallon in the city and 21 miles per gallon on the highway. When taking the Wrangler off road, this SUV is pretty much unstoppable. Jeep has made sure that the Wrangler is no longer slow like the previous years. It is now more powerful and has a way better fuel economy.
Jeep did improve on the interior from previous years. They gave the new Wrangler a cabin filled with a new design that has a stouter, more natural look. The back seat does however provide seating for only two passengers and has very cramped leg and feet room. For when you want to ride in convertible style in the Wrangler, the cargo comes with cargo tie downs to secure your things so as they won't fall or fly out while driving. Also, with any soft top SUV, carrying cargo can be a very risky business as only the center console and glove box are capable of being locked. The best option here would be to go with the optional hard top that has removable T-top-style panels for the maximum security.
