Part 1: Introduction

With the brilliance of Cadillac Escalades comes another breakthrough with the 2012 Escalade EXT Truck. It is the luxury vehicle that resembles all the traditional Escalades, but with the impressive utility and body of a truck. Beyond doubt, Escalade EXT is the choice for outdoor comfort. With its perfect combination of style, innovation and luxury along with its unrivalled adaptability, it is truly Cadillac.

Escalade EXT Truck is described as a five passenger SUV that can be modified into a two passenger luxury truck. It has a very versatile 8 foot bed courtesy of Midgate. Although the external appearance differs from that of previous Escalade models, the engine never changed. Escalade EXT runs on a 6.2 liter V8 engine that can generate a tremendous 403 horsepower and 417 pounds-feet of torque. It has an automatic 6-speed transmission accompanied with an available AWD (All-Wheel-Drive). It is ideal for great outdoor activities because in spite of its sleek and stylish design, it has a monstrous towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. Furthermore, it delivers 13 MPG while in the city and 18 MPG on the highway as estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with fuel economy estimated at 15 miles/gallon.

Moving forward, as with the Escalade family, Escalade EXT is also has computerized RSS (Road Sensing Suspension) that produces a smooth ride. Along with that is the MRC or Magnetic Ride Control feature, which is excellent in any road condition. It also comes with the available All Wheel Drive to surpass the unexpected road conditions. With all of these in a luxury truck, no doubt, 2012 Cadillac Escalade EXT is the perfect companion for people with an active lifestyle.

Since the Escalade EXT is a very distinct sport utility truck, with some parts resembles that of a pick-up, the Midgate located at the back of the rear set is capable of folding in the cabin, which stretches the cargo space from 5 ft. to 8 ft. or a total of 101 cubic ft. With this, a lockable cover secures the items inside the cargo, which is removable if extra space is desired.

With its great performance and reliability just like any other Escalades, Escalade EXT truck also has dwelled a lot on its safety with its anti theft door locks, top sensors and dual stage driver and passenger airbags. The vehicle also has an ACR (automatic car response) and emergency services. That is the reason why it was awarded 5- star on safety by the United States government crash test system.

Cadillac Escalade EXT Truck Pros and Cons

Sponsored Ads:

Pros It is a perfect combination of SUV like make that can accommodate 5 passengers and the rough covered cargo. This is made possible by a very unique migdate system.

Pros Compared to Chevrolet Avalanche, Escalade EXT is more powerful with the available AWD and V8 engine.

Pros The interior is flashier and stylish which is the trademark of all Cadillac vehicles. The truck is filled with superior quality and extra appealing materials.

Pros It has a very powerful powertrain that can produce the smoothest ride a luxury truck can offer

Cons This luxury truck lacks the strongest towing capacity having only 7600 pounds capabilities. It is very unlikely of other powerful trucks such as Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 King Ranch. But the tow rate is already acceptable and beyond its luxurious make.

Cons It is difficult to maneuver in tight spaces because of the very limited rear visibility

Cons Some interior plastic parts have marginal quality

Cons Similar with Chevrolet Avalanche, Escalade EXT has the highest theft rate
