Two wheel drives in its category don't have its mechanical advantage in an electronic enhanced 4 speed transmission, a battery rundown protection, 4- wheel disc, antilock brakes with dynamic rear proportioning, electronic automatic level control and a full range 237 lb-ft of torque.

Safety is impressively scaled up in the 2011 Buick Lucerne Sedan, manifested in StabiliTrak- which is a stability control system with brake assist, full range brake modulated traction control with powertrain. Staying on safety, it has an Automatic Crash response system, Stolen Vehicle assistant, OnStar Turn-by-Turn navi system, 3point safety belts plus a lap belt on the center position, door locks for rear child protection, a LATCH system and tire pressure monitoring system. Gas emissions on this model have been kept on the minimum with standard safety features across the board including power outside heated adjustable mirrors, fog lamps with front halogen with projector beam, switchable daytime running lamps, remote keyless entry, 6 airbags, Xm satellite radio and the new Lane departure Warning system that reads road marks and gives warning when you leave your lane.
